We Live Inside a Simulated Universe

At some point before our universe existed, scientists, in an attempt to simulate the origin of their own universe, built a powerful supercomputer capable of running a realtime or greater than realtime simulation of a universe, from its origin, on to the creation of life and civilization on planets within it. We exist within that simulation.
